Our alliance with one of the nations leading training providers ensures that our comprehensive 4 years modern apprenticeship program delivers the very highest practical and academic engineering skills training.
Dedicated and hard-working apprentices have the opportunity to become highly skilled, time-served precision engineers. Excellent career opportunities in precision machining, shop floor leadership and management, estimating and method planning, quality control and inspection, and sales and marketing are available to apprentices who successfully complete their apprenticeship and then gain valuable experience.
Training Structure
The mechanical engineering modern apprenticeship is a comprehensive 4 years training program and consists of 4 days/wk practical skills training at Torkingtons and 1 day/wk release at college.
NVQ’s II & III are achieved through practical skills training delivered at Torkingtons, and the BTec National in Mechanical Engineering and HNC in Mechanical or Production Engineering are both achieved through day release at college.
Entry Qualifications
Minimum 5 GCSE’s with grades C or above, including Maths and English Language.

- BTec National in Mechanical Engineering
