The mechanical engineering advanced apprenticeship is a comprehensive 4 years training program and consists of 4 days/wk practical skills training at Torkingtons and 1 day/wk release at college.
NVQ’s II & III are achieved through practical skills training delivered at Torkingtons, and the BTec National in Mechanical Engineering and HNC in Mechanical or Production Engineering are both achieved through day release at college.
Successful applicants will have a minimum 5 GCSE’s, with grades B or above in Maths and English. Similarly good grades in IT and Science will be an advantage.
Applications are welcome from candidates who are undertaking, or have undertaken A levels, and also from young adults who have decided it's time for a career change. A level subject choice is not critical and applications are welcome from candidates who have selected non-technical subjects at A level.
