Full material validation, qualification and traceability for product contact spares
Your sample is reverse engineered and a CAD drawing is produced. The drawing has a unique CAD drawing number that can be engraved on the replacement spare we manufacture, along with our job reference number and your part or stock code numbers if available.
From the CAD drawing number and job reference number we are able to trace the materials used for the manufacture of the part. Copies of material certificates can be sent electronically at anytime.
The engraved reference numbers may be used by used by line operatives, technicians, engineers and buyers alike for re-ordering purposes.
PMI (Positive Material Identification) testing
Torkingtons offer a comprehensive PMI testing service for change parts and filling machinery spares who's material type and grade are unknown. PMI can be integral to the reverse engineering process, particularly with filling equipment dispensing corrosive or abrasive products.
PMI testing can be extremely useful if you are conducting a FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) on a product contact part that has failed prematurely or in an unexpected manner.

Our team of experienced site engineers are available to visit your site, normally by next working day anywhere in mainland UK, in order to discuss your specific requirements and measure samples.
Site consultations often produce improvement ideas, usually with respect to materials selection, tolerancing and design, that can increase service life and improve process performance.
